Welcome to our new website! Montacuto welcomes you to its new website! We wish to give you an idea of how special this place is, and invite you to spend a holiday in the heart of Tuscany. Montacuto is located halfway between the fascinating cultural centre that is Siena and the ‘wilder’ territory of Maremma, with its unspoilt natural landscape and wildlife. We are on the edges of Maremma, only 25km away from Siena.
The nearby villages of Pari and Casal di Pari are little gems. Besides the breathtaking natural landscape, there are many other interesting destinations in the environs of our ancient hamlet for you to explore, trek to, and discover. A mere 5km away is the natural spa of Petriolo, originally used by Etruscans and Romans, where you can still bathe freely in sulphurous water at 43 *C – it’s very good for your skin!
The valley of the Farma river has recently been declared a natural reserve and with its trails is an ideal destination for trekkers.
The Tuscany you will discover in Montacuto is a place of tranquillity and village-life, unspoilt nature and peaceful silence, tasty and healthy food, and slow rhythms of life. Montacuto is off the main tourist-trail and has managed to preserve its authenticity.
